International Women’s Day at IHGI: Awareness Session on Cervical Cancer under ‘Disha’ Initiative

On the occasion of International Women’s Day, Innocent Hearts Group of Institutions organized an awareness session on cervical cancer under “Disha – An Initiative”, run and managed by the Bowry Memorial Educational and Medical Trust. The session was conducted in collaboration with Phulkari – Conquer Cancer Organization to educate and empower girl students and staff about the importance of early detection, prevention, and women’s health awareness.

The programme was coordinated by the Internal Complaints Committee (ICC) and the Red Ribbon Club of the institution. Distinguished experts including Mrs. Anjali Dada, Head Conquer Cancer Project and President & Founder of Soch Autism Society of Punjab; Dr. Amita Sharma, Technical Advisor, CC Team, Phulkari Women of Jalandhar; and Mrs. Shilpa Chawla, Subject Facilitator, Phulkari WOJ, addressed the participants and shared valuable insights on the causes and symptoms of cervical cancer, the importance of vaccination and regular screening, healthy lifestyle practices, and advancements in medical treatment.

Adding a creative and impactful dimension to the awareness drive, students presented a Nukkad Natika (street play) and a self-composed poem, highlighting the significance of women’s health and the need for early screening and preventive care.

Dr. Palak Gupta Bowry, CSR Director, Innocent Hearts, emphasized the importance of such initiatives in promoting awareness and building a healthy, informed community. The programme concluded with a vote of thanks by Dr. Gagandeep Kaur Dhanju, Director Academics, IHGI, and the guests were honored with eco-friendly potted plants presented by Ms. Sharmila Nakra, Deputy Director, Cultural Affairs. The session successfully reinforced the message of health awareness, empowerment, and preventive care among women.


 

  








Yoga Session at IHGI Promotes Mental Well-Being and Healthy Living under the ‘Disha’ Initiative

The Mental Well-Being Club of Innocent Hearts Group of Institutions organized an energizing Yoga Session for students on March 2, 2026, under “Disha – An Initiative” conducted by the Bawri Memorial Educational and Medical Trust in collaboration with the Employees' State Insurance Corporation (ESIC). The session aimed to raise awareness about the importance of physical fitness, mental health, and maintaining a balanced lifestyle among students.

The event was organized as part of the “Special Service Fortnight” (February 24 – March 10) celebrating the 75th Foundation Year of ESIC, which focuses on promoting health awareness and community outreach. The session was graced by Mr. Hemraj Rana, Branch Manager, ESIC, along with other distinguished dignitaries.

Experienced yoga instructors Ms. Sarita Malhotra and Mr. Sachin Chadha from the District Ayurvedic and Unani Office guided students through various yoga asanas, pranayama techniques, stretching exercises, and meditation practices. They also explained the scientific benefits of yoga for stress management, improved concentration, and overall well-being. Students participated enthusiastically, experiencing a calm and positive atmosphere that encouraged them to incorporate yoga into their daily routine.

The programme concluded with a vote of thanks by Dr. Gagandeep Kaur Dhanju, Director Academics, IHGI, followed by the presentation of green saplings to the guests as a token of appreciation. The session successfully highlighted the importance of holistic development and mental well-being, aligning with the objectives of the Mental Well-Being Club.




Educational Visit to Seechewal Model: IHGI Students Experience Sustainability and Community Action

The Environment Cell of Innocent Hearts Group of Institutions organized an educational visit to the Seechewal Model at Village Dalla, Sultanpur Lodhi, providing students with a unique opportunity to witness environmental sustainability in action. Around 40 students participated enthusiastically in the visit, gaining valuable insights into innovative practices related to water conservation, waste management, and eco-friendly development.

During the visit, students explored the Clean Wastewater Treatment Plant and observed effective wastewater treatment and recycling techniques. They also learned about sustainable farming practices and the significant role of community participation in protecting the environment. The visit to Sultanpur Lodhi highlighted how collective efforts transformed polluted water bodies into clean and sustainable resources, reflecting the spirit of service, teamwork, and environmental responsibility.

The Seechewal Model has received nationwide recognition for its outstanding environmental initiatives and has been appreciated by several dignitaries, including former President Dr. A. P. J. Abdul Kalam. The visit proved to be an enriching experience, inspiring students to become environmentally conscious and socially responsible citizens.



IHGI Students Secure Second Position in Business Quiz at GNA University Inter-College Competition

 Students of Innocent Hearts Group of Institutions proudly represented the institute at the Inter-College Competition organized by GNA University, demonstrating remarkable knowledge, confidence, and competitive spirit. The event brought together talented participants from various institutions, providing a platform for students to showcase their academic abilities and teamwork.

Adding to the pride of the institution, Aakash Kumar (MCA), Komal (MBA), and Ishmeet Kaur (MBA) secured Second Position in the Business Quiz Competition. Their impressive performance reflected strong understanding of business concepts, awareness of current affairs, and excellent analytical skills.

This achievement marks a proud moment for the institution and reinforces Innocent Hearts Group of Institutions’ commitment to encouraging academic excellence, intellectual growth, and holistic development among its students.

Cricket & Badminton Tournament 2026: A Grand Celebration of Sportsmanship and Team Spirit

 The Sports Club of Innocent Hearts Group of Institutions successfully organized the Cricket & Badminton Tournament 2026 at the Dr. W.R. Bowry Memorial Cricket Stadium and Badminton Court. The event brought together enthusiastic participation from students across various departments, fostering teamwork, unity, and healthy competition.

In the Cricket Tournament, Captain Ankush (B.Com-VI) and his team showcased exceptional coordination, determination, and skill to secure the Winner’s Trophy. In the Badminton Doubles category, Ishnoor Singh (B.Com-II) and Jasdeep Kaur (MLS-II) emerged as winners, while Loverpreet Singh (BCA-IV) and Nikhil (B.Com-II) secured the runner-up position.

The tournament was conducted smoothly under the dedicated coordination of the Sports Club. Students demonstrated remarkable enthusiasm, discipline, and true sportsmanship throughout the event, making it a memorable and grand success.

National Science Day 2026 Celebrated with Enthusiasm: Showcasing Innovation under the Theme “Women in Science: Catalysing Viksit Bharat

 

The Medical Science Department of Innocent Hearts Group of Institutions, in collaboration with the Science Club, celebrated National Science Day 2026 with great zeal and scientific spirit under the theme “Women in Science: Catalysing Viksit Bharat.” The event aimed to promote scientific awareness, creativity, and innovation among students while highlighting the significant contribution of women in the field of science and nation-building.

The celebration featured three engaging competitions — Model Making, Poster Presentation, and Quiz Competition — in which students participated enthusiastically and presented innovative ideas and informative projects. Each activity reflected the spirit of the theme and emphasized the role of science and women’s empowerment in shaping a progressive and developed India.

The event successfully fostered scientific temper, teamwork, and healthy competition, providing students with a platform to demonstrate their knowledge, creativity, and research aptitude. Industrial Visit to Markfed & Alumni Talk Connect Students with Real-World Medical Science Careers

 

The Medical Science Department of Innocent Hearts Group of Institutions organized an enriching industrial visit to the Markfed Unit, Adampur, providing students with valuable exposure to real-time industrial operations. A total of 29 students actively participated in the visit and observed various processes including production, quality testing, and packaging techniques. The experience helped students understand the practical applications of their academic knowledge and enhanced their awareness of industrial standards and workflow.

The event was further complemented by an interactive Alumni Talk, where distinguished alumni MD. Sahwaz, Senior Lab Technician at ANR Lab, and Mr. Mithlesh Kumar, Senior Lab Technician at Synergy Lab, shared their professional journeys and industry experiences. They guided students on current job opportunities, required skills, and career prospects in the medical science field, motivating them to prepare for the professional world.

The combined initiative of the industrial visit and alumni interaction proved to be highly informative and inspiring. It successfully bridged the gap between classroom learning and industry expectations, reflecting the institution’s commitment to providing practical exposure and career-oriented education.
